Product Details

The Vintage Pioneer SX 780 is equipped with a high-output, low-distortion power amplifier, a high-quality, low-noise, high-gain equalizer amplifier, a high-stability tuner section, tone controls with tone suppression, built-in protection circuitry, and independent power meters .

There is something about the brilliance and brilliance of these silver receivers with their brushed aluminum fronts, backlit bulbs, displays and bouncing VU meters that is mesmerizing and a bit like sitting in front of a fireplace in the dark. It was the last of Pioneer's 700 series receivers and was very well built. It was produced from 1978 to 1980.

The SX-780 was rated at 45 watts per channel, but that was probably underestimated. The internals were high quality with Darlington STK-0050 power supplies in the output stage and high quality Nichicon capacitors. It also has a great phono preamplifier section, as well as AUX and TAPE outputs.

The receiver has undergone renovation of the housing (new veneer), each of the potentiometers has been disassembled - cleaned and lubricated. In addition, filter capacitors were replaced with new Nichicon 10000uF.

DC voltages adjusted, quiescent currents as well.

Remember!

The receiver is equipped with a relay responsible for switching on the "A" and "B" outputs. In order not to overload it - always turn the volume down to a minimum. Before turning the receiver on and off.
